Field Service Engineer (FSE) Afghanistan

The scope of work is to provide End User IT support for customers of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) information systems to include Non-Classified Internet Protocol Routing Network (NIPRNET) and Secret Internet Protocol Routing Network (SIPRNET), and theater based specific networks.

The objective is to provide End User IT support to all DLA customers, primarily focused in the Central Command (CENTCOM) Air of Responsibility (AOR).  The Contractor shall ensure that all customers, whether in the defined area, teleworking, working remotely, or at another duty location receive the same high quality service and support.

 

The goal of the FSE is to maintain and return customers to normal IT Operations, as soon as possible, with the smallest possible impact on the business activity of the organization's end user(s).  This support includes the tracking of Incidents/Work Orders from receipt through closure using DLA's Trouble Ticket Tracking System.  DLA currently utilizes the Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software "BMC Remedy". 

 

The Contractor shall provide IT support in the following task areas:

 

Incident Management

Work Order Management

Escalation Management

Device Build, Maintenance and Administration

Software Support 

Asset Management

Installations, Moves, Adds, Changes (IMAC)

Technology Refresh:  Mobile Devices

AV/VTC Support

***Highly Desired Skills***

Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Administration:  At Government request, move /setup / maintain / teardown DLA's SNAP deployable satellite systems.  Assist the Government with repair, break/fix troubleshooting, maintenance support, planning and providing guidance/oversight for SATCOM and Network Services.

Travel:  Travel when necessary and directed to any DLA site location in Europe, Africa, and CENTCOM AOR.

Requirements:  

  • Clearance: Secret
  • IA Level: IAT-II baseline certification (current Security+ or higher, in accordance with DoD 8570)
  • Computing Environment: Microsoft Windows 10
  • Afghanistan Work Visa
  • Complete CONUS Replacement Center (CRC)

 

Note:  Afghanistan contractor status will be designated "Contractors Authorized to Accompany the Force (CAAF)" and may be tasked to be in the field with expeditionary forces, outside the established fortifications for Kandahar Air Field and Bagram Air Field.  Tasks may include providing maintenance to established satellite at remote sites assisting DLA customers with break/fix actions and service requests.
