Systems Engineer/ Architect

The Systems Architect (SA) will be responsible for the architecture and design for the planned migration of a preexisting operational system to be absorbed into an enterprise environment. The SA will work within a small collaborative team to assist with assessing and documenting the current systems architecture (physical and virtual) and designing the future state architecture to meet with enterprise structure, policy, and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with team members, customers, and mission stakeholders as well as technical specialists in the process of managing/defining tier 3 support requirements
  • Analyze system performance and functional requirements to develop, maintain and enhance system architecture for a large-scale enterprise system
  • Define system management, software deployment, and system update tool suites to automate system administration
  • Organize and prepare detailed documentation of system architecture, system configuration, and change requests utilizing system management tools to maintain system configuration baselines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a finalized DOD TS Clearance
  • Requires IAT Level 2 (e.g. Security+ w/ CE)
  • Requires three (3) years of experience working as a system engineer

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • System architecture and design in high availability Windows Environments
  • Architecting, Installing, configuring, and/or managing virtualization platforms (e.g. ESXi, Hyper-V, VMWare)
  • Administering Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Active Directory (AD)
  • Administering or leveraging IT automation tools such as System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), SolarWinds
  • Administering Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE or other Linux environments
  • Scripting for system administration tasks using Windows PowerShell, Python, etc.
  • Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or greater (e.g. installation, backups, high availability)
  • Configuring and managing Windows domains (Active Directory, Group Policy, etc.)
  • Citrix VDI * Applying STIGs/SCAP Compliance Checker
